Summer welcomes warm days and delicous fruit selections -- including strawberries. A favorite summer dessert - sweetened strawberries can be used in shortcakes, strawberry cake filling or just served over ice cream.
Ingredients
16oz quart strawberries
3/4 cup granulated sugar (or adjust as needed)
1. Add sugar to cut and sliced strawberries. I slice my strawberries in 1/4 inch slices cross wise and slice again into smaller pieces if needed.
2. Cover and let sit in the refrigerator 4 hours to overnight. The strawberries will soak in the strawberries and create their own juice.
