Cherry Pie Filling - Homemade

Make your next cherry pie with the perfect filling. This is a quick easy recipe passed down from my mom. Be sure to save this recipe and give it a try!

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1 cup granulated sugar

2 pats of butter

1 can of pitted tart cherries

  1. In a medium bowl drain cherries from the can juice. Place each in a separate bowl.

  2. Add cornstarch, almond extract and sugar to the bowl containing the cherry juice.

  3. Mix well with a whisk

  4. Add the cherries to the cherry juice and stir gently to incorporate.

  5. Pour cherries into the pie crust shell, and add 2 pats of butter before adding the top pie crust.
